tree management & protection plans

common sense management & protection of trees on development sites.

Before building or renovation around trees, you will be required to prepare a Tree Protection Plan (TPP), install tree protection and maintain that tree protection for the duration of the construction period.

Tree protection must comply with Australian Standard AS4970-2020 Protection of Trees on Development Sites.

Tree Report have an extensive and thorough knowledge of tree protection on building sites as well as the expertise to install the required tree protection so that your site is compliant and work can commence.

Regardless of the stage at which the relevant authority requires the TPS and TPP, these documents shall be prepared by the project arborist and consider measures necessary to protect and manage the trees throughout all stages of the development. The most current version of the TPS and TPP shall be included in the construction documentation.

Our tree management & protection plans comply with Australian Standard AS4970-2020 Protection of Trees on Development Sites and contain the following:

  1. specify, using a logical and sequential process, the measures by which the trees will be protected and managed throughout the development works;

  2. state any prohibitions that may be required due to the lack of detail or documentation (e.g. no trenching is allowed within the TPZ where a services plan does not exist); and

  3. document critical stages.
