arboricultural impact assessments

arboricultural impact assessments prepared by experienced AQF Level 5 arborists.

When submitting a development application to council, applicants must provide sufficient tree and site information for a Tree Management Officer to make a comprehensive assessment of the proposed works. An Arboricultural Impact Assessment (AIA) prepared by an AQF Level 5 arborist will assist council to process your application faster.

Where works will occur in the NRZ of one or more trees an AJA report shall be prepared by the project arborist once the final development design (layout) is complete. The AIA report shall identify and discuss —

  1. likely impacts on all trees;

  2. design modifications that have been considered;

  3. justifications for trees requiring removal; and

  4. any methods that should be implemented to minimize or avoid the impacts on trees that are to be retained.

The AIA report shall determine the TPZ that it will be possible to protect during site works, for each tree or group of trees.

In preparing an AIA, a review of architectural, hydraulic, civil and bulk earthwork, services and landscape documentation should be included to provide an accurate impact assessment. Where these documents are not available for review, this should be clearly stated in the report.

The AIA report shall discuss and propose design and construction methods to minimise impacts on retained trees and outline the management and protection methods necessary to minimize impacts on the tree or trees.

Tree Report prepares all AIA reports in accordance with Australian Standard AS4970-2025 Protection on Trees on Development Sites and Australian Standard AS4373-2007 Pruning of Amenity Trees by AQF Level 5 arborists and satisfy council requirements for submission to get your development under way.
